Solar PV
Solar PV and renewable energy advice with offices close to Nottingham, Derby, Birmingham, Milton Keynes, NorthamptonLeicester, London, Coventry and Oxford.
How does Solar PV work?
Solar PV Panels work through harnessing the suns energy using photovoltaic (PV) cells. Inside the cells, sunlight is converted into electricity, through the ‘photoelectric effect’. Solar PV produces energy from daylight and not direct sunlight, meaning they will work even on an overcast day.
Solar PV is particularly suitable for sites where a reasonable surface area of south facing roof space is available to mount the panels.
But don’t wait too long to install…
The feed in tariffs for slar PV are only guaranteed if you install before April 2012. The tariffs are being reduced each year after this time. It makes sense financially to make the most of this initiative whilst it is available at this level.
