Renewable Energy
Reduce the carbon footprint of your organisation and make a substantial return on investment using renewable technologies: anaerobic digestion, solar panels or wind turbines.
The feed in tariff (FIT) has made renewable energy systems even more of a hot topic for business. Not only is it possible to generate energy without the carbon footprint associated with traditional electricity supply but you can benefit financially too, thanks to this government initiative. The feed in tariff provides organisations with a guaranteed income for 25 years (e.g. 36.1p for every kWh of electricity produced for Solar PV). Receive payments for all electricity you generate, regardless of whether you actually use electricity or not.
The benefits of installing renewable technologies are considerable:
- Reduce the organisations CO2 emissions / carbon footprint
- Visible signs of a commitment to the environment displayed at the site, providing a strong message, helping win and retain business
- A reduction in electricity bills, through using electricity generated on-site
- Annual payments and overall return on investment
E Advantage are committed to helping organisations benefit commercially from their environmental responsibility. This is very much the case for the renewable technologies we provide. To demonstrate the return on investment, we have outlined a project we developed with National Energy Services below:
| Example | |
| Technology utilised | Solar Photovoltaic Panels |
| Roof area covered | 80m2 |
| Total cost of an installed system | £50,000 |
| Approximate benefit annually (utilities costs savings + generation and export tariffs) | £3,989 |
| Estimated payback time for installed system costs | 12.5 years |
| Projected total benefit over 25 years | £158,748 |
| Projected savings of C02 emissions over 25 years | 128.45 tonnes |
E Advantage have partnerships with the leading manufacturers of Micro-generation Certification Scheme (MCS) approved renewable technologies, a large network of expert MCS installers and access to finances specifically targeted at renewables. We created this package to ensure your organisation can fully benefit from the best the market has to offer. We can offer this for the following renewable technologies:
Anaerobic digestion is a treatment that composts waste without oxygen, producing a biogas that can be used to generate electricity and heat. This is suitable for sites which primarily have significant quantities of suitable waste to use for energy generation.
Solar PV Panels work through harnessing the suns energy using photovoltaic (PV) cells. Inside the cells, sunlight is converted into electricity, through the ‘photoelectric effect’. Solar PV produces energy from daylight, not direct sunlight, meaning they will work even on an overcast day. Solar PV is particularly suitable for sites where a reasonable surface area of south facing roof space is available to mount the panels.
Wind Turbines generate energy as the blades rotate, powered by the wind. With the UK being the Europe’s windiest country (BWEA 2008) there is a compelling case for making the most of this free resource. A site assessment can identify whether your site is suitable for a turbine and the energy likely to be produced.
Don’t wait too long to install…
The feed in tariffs are only guaranteed if you install before April 2012. The tariffs are being reduced each year after this time. It makes sense financially to make the most of this initiative whilst it is available at this level.
